How do I use my Macbook Pro keyboard to control the crossfader? Is there a preset set of keys designated by the program?

open preferences/keyboard ,, open up the fields and see what are the commands avaible ,, to see whats allready set up ,, use to be arrow right and arrow left ,, not shure if that in play anymore in the later versions ,, ,if you want to alter it then duplicate the existing mapping and edit it to your liking

Yes, changing crossfader assignments are easy peasy - but they don't work! I set up the same as the pic with left and right arrows and it doesn't lower the volume of the opposite track when its supposed to. I'm flummoxed!

explain ,, suggested you use one of the already established functions ,, auto mix ,the arrow on the left and right of the fader ,,if you use the gui and the mouse to tab the arrows on the gui does the Cross fader move to the left if you tab the left arrow ,and to the right when tabing the right ,, , this is the funtion you can use to control the Cross fader with keyboard short cuts , ,,just out of chance did you follow the instructions for duplicating a mapping and edit that mapping ,, something is missing in your endeverours ,,please explain what you have done ,,to figure out what you need to do , here to help ,

"follow the instructions for duplicating a mapping and edit that mapping"
Yes, I did. My understanding of what a crossfader SHOULD do is fade out the prior track in favor of the new track. Even though setting the Auto Cross Fade to Left (cursor left) and Auto Cross Fade to Right (cursor right) in a new keyboard by duplicating, it DOES NOT actually fade the previous track. The crossfader itself does move in the direction that I click on the appropriate cursor key. Playing a track on deck A. Then, start track B and click cursor right to fade to Deck B track only results in two playing tracks Deck B AND A. Not what I was hoping for.
