Bypass (Vinyl) mode output distorts(HELP)

Hi I'm am new to the whole DVS system and have slowly worked through some initial problems getting the Ultimate DVS package to work. I am confident that all connections are correct as at various stages I have had clear sound being output through. I am using 2 Stanton ST-150 turntables with a Pioneer DJM 700 and U-Mix 44 SC connected to PC running windows XP. I have optimised the performance of PC and updated the U-Mix 44 driver in order to get everything finally working.
When I am using the timecode vinyl the output through the speakers sounds good (had some initial problems with low volume output but think it is now ok). The issue is when I switch to bypass mode and use regular vinyl the sound is distorted because the gain seems too high and it is maxing out.
Any help would be great. Sorry for the long dribble

Deactivate RIAA in the Vinyl settings.

Thanks for your response. I am not sure how to deactivate RIAA although checking the config report I think it is already off. I have played around with the settings and the timecode vinyl sounds perfect but then on bypass mode it sounds extremely bassy and the highs and mids are muffled. Any ideas?
