(Writing here as asked by support because I can't seem to post in closed forums)
Please may I log a support query. I can't seem to find a forum lost button so apologies for the private message.
I have just purchased the DVS 7.4 system, got it working right away with my x2 Technics Mk2's and my external mixer.
Was all wokring great for a bout 2 hours when suddenly channel stopped working right in mid mix, music went odd and then no sound (works fine in bypass mode) - after running install wizard (many times) it never seems to pick up and sound from input one and 2.... (but bypass is fine???)
I have see a few forums posts about trying reset.exe, I have tried this to no avail, just resets my config which I have been doing.
Can you please help with any suggestions?
If it helps - my physical connections are in check. Desk are into respective 1&2, 3&4 - respective 1&2, 3&4 outputs to phono inputs on mixer. Master out plugged in from mixer.
Thank you in advance
PS: As I am at work right now, config report and some screenshots of your audio settings will be uploaded when I get home.

Hi Jeron. Seems that it was working fine, then the sound went 'strange' from what you said. Did you check to see if u had 'fluff' or dust build up around the stylus? or unplug the cartridge, make sure that it was in contact correctly? I recall this used to happen to me with DVS 7 now and again. Can you see in the calibration screen that you are receiving signal from 'said failed' input/ deck? Maybe have a bit of a fiddle around with the cartridge with the calibration screen on, to see if this is the problem. Yeah sound will sometimes still sound fine with bypass mode on with true vinyl, but timecode can be a little more temperamental. Also you could try pluging in the working deck into the opposite channel that is not working to see if it works...and vice versa. Cheers

Hi Hemskoc,
Thank you for your reply (I'm still at work right now)
Funny you mentioned a fluff build up as I experienced this during the first track, I saw the fluff and removed it.
The "strange"ness was similar to what fluff would cause, however it would be better described as the bitrate suddenly decreasing as the length of the song increased dramatically,
Something that I forgot to mention in my original post (mainly due to rage)
However after a reboot of my system and a re-install (just to be sure, deleted all file in/program files and registry keys relating to mixvibes) of DVS 7 is where I have my current issue.
I 100% agree with you that something is up with the time code for whatever reason. The deck (Deck1) in question works 100% with no issues if plugged into the input 3 &4 . Deck2 plugged into inputs 1&2 has the same issues as the "reported" issue.
With regards to config report. I don't have access to it right now, but I do remember my notes I made whilst reviewing it myself. will post when I can.
Deck2, the one that works, reports noise ratings and DB's of sound being picked up, where as Deck1 does not - not matter what Deck I use into input 1&2 0db is being reported in the config report.
I would rule out it being my cartrages as bypass mode and alternating the decks would have eliminated this.
Again thanks for your input. :-) :-)

What is your hardware setup if you dont ming my asking - might help others to help (sound card, using ASIO drivers?, ect) Yeah, it sounds like a software issue; rather than a hardware from the process of your elimination..... might be a gain setting that changed , maybe? Cheers

Hi Again,
My Hardware set up. No worries: (I hope this is what you mean)
Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) Gigabyte EX58-UD4P Intel X58 (Socket 1366) Corsair XMS3 12GB (6x2GB) DDR3 nVidia GTX 295 1792MB Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Asio U-Mix 44 usb drives as sound input device into Generic USB devices into my main board. Recognized as a "working properly" sound device.
A gain setting... Perhaps - will need to check the gain on my external Mixer, worth a look., won't rule it out, I was in mid mix going a bit mad for it on my external mixer (Numark DM1050.... don't laugh its actually my fav mixer on earth, never lets me down where others certainly have).
Never used the software mixer only my external.
Out of interest, whats the latest version of the DVS software? I'm running 7.4.0, I'd like to run an update if there is one.

As promised, here is my Config Report. Notice Channel 1 does not detect any Ddbs. Also, thanks for the previous suggestion of gain checking, had a fiddle and no change unfortunantly.
I think this is a big give away to what the problem could be. Also, dude to the fact that by-pass works it must be a software issue more then hardware.
Please help! I am playing out on the 14th and really need this DVS system :-0
Cheers.

Additionally, I don't know if it will help, but I have a screen record of me running through the config. I can assure you that the physical connections are the same for both sides. Note: bypass mode still works. http://screenr.com/0df8Really do appreciate anybody even reading this :-) Jeron.

Hey Jeron. Im surprised no one else has put in 2 cents worth as yet.... Looked at the config report and yeah, there seems to be something going on with the input signal of the 2nd input. Also watched your video, and the wizard seemed a little wacky, that it did not even detect any sort of input whatsoever ?!? You have already tried the 'reset' option, so im sort of at an end of ideas for the moment. Maybe try more weight on the tonearm, as to push the needle a little harder into the vinyl. I find this helps when my TC vinyls get a bit worn, and old, and gives me a better reading. Check what the 'panel' of the u46 is showing. Maybe something got changed in there? The only other thing i can personally think is there is something gone wrong physically with the actual input rca pins on the u46? Cheers

Does the issue change side if you : - swap decks inputs ? - swap cartridge ? - swap vinyl ?

Hey i just might add that on your first post you said 'routed to phono inputs on the mixer'. Are these set to 'line' gain, or 'phono' gain? Cheers
