I can't download the installation software

Hi,

I purchased the Mixvibes DVS Ultimate setup and I've had problems installing. Here's what I've done so far...

Having realised my main laptop's CD drive was broken, I thought I could download to my work laptop and run off there. Unfortunately I was unable to download the U-Mix 44 sound card driver (administrator privileges - grrr!!) so when I run the Mixvibes install wizard, no soundcard is recognised as I couldn't download off the website.

So I hoped I could bypass the CD drive on my main laptop by downloading the installation software off the Mixvibes Download Centre so here I am but all I can find are updates (which result in 'Bad Installation' messages). I did find some posts which said there was an logo/image of the installation software on the Download Centre pages but this didn't appear on my screen. I am logged on and have entered my Licence Key information into my profile.

As a side note, I wondered whether the problem lay with the soundcard itself when I couldn't find the soundcard on the Mixvibes 'Install Wizard' so I downloaded the Mixvibes DVS Ultimate Demo of CNET. This worked fine and ran with the timecoded vinyl on my decks without bother.

So I'm figuring all I need is the installation software available to download and I should be good.

Here's my setup anyway:

Technics 1210 Mk2 x2
Numark DM2002X

Windows Vista
Dell Inspiron 1520 w/Intel Centrino Duo

20Gb+ free space available.

If you could let me know asap, I'd be massively grateful!

hey,

when you have an alternative computer where you can read the cd, create an iso image and open it with an virtual cd tool at your laptop with the broken cd drive and install it with the virtual cd.
Then it should work.
After that you can install the update from the side here.

I had a similar problem, but solved it by using an external usb hard disk and a second computer. I created a folder on the usb drive called Mixvibes and copied everything from the cd to this folder.

I then connected the drive to my laptop and copied the same folder to my laptop's hard disk, ran the installation and all was fine.

I hope that one of these solutions will help you to install your software.

Thanks for help everyone and the link to download.

I've downloaded and unzipped the file and tried running the install but a warning message came up asking me if I trusted the source. I clicked allow but then nothing happens - no further messages or anything.

I have Windows XP Service Package 2 and I've since found a forum post with someone saying they experienced the same problem and you were able to provide a solution. Can you help?
