Hi People,

i just bought a new Mixvibes Ultimate pack. Before that, i used a Mixvibes Producer (7.0.x) from a friend for testing (installed on the same netbook as now Ultimate).

In comparison to the MV Producer, i have now 2 problems:

The bigger one is smart loop feature.
With the Producer version, smart loops where really good, tight, also when hitting the loop-key on the keyboard a little bit too early or late.

With the now bought Ultimate version, the smart loops don't really work. The feeling is almost the same, as working with a standard CDJ - few milliseconds too late and the loop is very inaccurate.

I tried a lot of configuration options, but it didn't help.

I am very experienced with computers (current occupation: systems administrator, have been media operator for years before), especially with audio hard- and software. I can i.e. configure a linux realtime-system (with a custom self-compiled kernel) and tune any system to get the last bit of performance out of it, so may it be, that the smart-loop thing is a bug in Mixvibes 7.4?
If so, could i "downgrade" to i.e. 7.3 or 7.21? (I tried to downloading and installing "DVS 7.21 Update" - after i had uninstalled my 7.4 - but it told me "Wrong Serial Number")
Proper smart loop is important to me.

So i know what's new in MV 7.4 with loops.
And, another issue: if i use F4 (Autoloop), MV takes a tenth of a beat and loops it. very weird! sounds like stutter from a CDJ ..

Second problem:
I can not activate Mixvibes. My Netbook has deactivated Network (and the Windows XP is tuned with Autoruns etc., Network Services are disabled manually). The Activation option just tells me "Error. No Internet connection". And there is no option to activate by phone .. I won't activate Network on this Laptop. I have configured it more than 4 weeks, to get a real low-latency performance (DPC Latency is now at 27 ns with plugged-in U-Mix44!! No Drops). I don't want to do it again.
(Although i have an image of the partition, but that's not a real option ..)

Is there another possibility to activate my DVS Ultimate?

thank you for the fast answer.

Maybe you didn't understand, what i said exactly in my first post:

I have no offline activation option in MixVibes DVS 7.4!

So your activation-weblink doesn't help, because i need an Activation request Number to use it.

There is only one command in help-menu, and that is "activate".
If i click on "activate" i get "Cannot connect to MixVibes internet server".
So from where should i get the activation request Number, if there is no "offline activation" in my version of DVS?

Can you / the support-team send me one by mail or pm?

And my other question, again:
Is it possible for me to get MixVibes 7.3 or 7.21 instead of the 7.4 which was on the CD in the ultimate-pack?
Because i read in the forum, that the smart-loop problem began with DVS 7.4. 7.3 or at least 7.21 seams to run properly ..

Please give me a little more information about this.

I have no clue why users think so Since some time I had it written down in my signature because I am getting lots of PMs from people asking for help. I think I should get back to that

As far, i don't have a solution for the smart-loop problem. I wrote a detailed mail to support@mixvibes.com now.

Will see, if i get some help there.

For activation, i had to use a usb-to-ethernet adapter and enable network-services and features on the netbook, activate, and then disable all again.
Very uncomfortable, as i know, that i.e. Vfx has the "offline-activation" feature.
If this is the essence of being honest and buying software - having trouble with copy-protection and missing features - then nobody should be surprised about people using cracked software.

Sorry for this words, i do not support stealing work of other people.
But the thing with activation is really a joke - network is something that has to be disabled on most serious audio-systems.

- the serial number from DVS and Producer should work into DVSU but not in the reverse way.
- the update 7.3 need a cd base install of an inferior version number to work, these are not standalone update that can work by themselves.
- there might be an issue with the smart loops feature, ticket opened.

If you need more info from me (about the smart-loop thing) - no problem.
About the "downgrade": yes, i already assumed that 'an update is really an update' I just gave it a try.
A little bit misleading is the fact, that these updates simply install into a folder - they don't seem to check if there is an inferior version and then to cancel the install if there is none - like most updates do.
But if it isn't anyway possible to use the Ultimate serial for DVS the try really makes no sense ..
