Hi pat,
Highlight your tracks (ctrl + a for everything) and you can save the tags from the file -> ID3 menu.

Even if you don't save the tags to the mp3, they should last in the mediabase.

hey phaded my bpm's did not save not even in media base now is that because i use an external powered harddrive? i'm just guessing that that could be my problem and if so now what... it sucks to show up 2 hours early and have to scan everything again.. i could save a copy of the music only files to my laptop if need be, but i don't like the idea of putting my videos their though i have more than enough power to do so,, let me know you can also hit me up at

Some kind of write protection? Are you allowed to change attributes of files from your external storage?
Greetings,

Hm, I got the same Issue here. I found out that it could be some kind of a limit in Windows Vista. I selected the Folder for the BPM and Peak Files and started scanning. It does about the first 10000 and saves them. Then it will stop saving the Peak files. (BPM is ok here, could it be that your Files are off limit, to slow or fast for the presets you made in the options).
Well, it saves the BPM at last, but it always has to recalculate the Peaks when opening a song. I deletd all and started on the other side of the file list. Its the same here. It calculates and saves the first 10000 files, but not more. I could live with it, as the Files i play most have everything stroed now. But maby someone does know if Window has its Limitations?

The bpm is saved into the mediabase. If you want it to be into the tags, you need to go to : mediabase/selected items/save tags.
The peak file is calculated once, then it is saved in a peak directory and reloaded when needed : no new calculation.
I'll check for the limit of tracks under vista...
EDIT : 30455 medias... please remove your UAC.
