Hi,

Just bought MixVibes Home 7; It appealed to me because it claimed to be compatible with I tunes. So far I'm disappointed: I manage to import the iTunes library to MixVibes, but it is not possible to drag a purchases I tune song to one of the players. Can anyone exxplain me how to do it?

What is the format of the song ?
DRM or not ?

If the music is DRM protected, only DRM capable players will be able to play it. As you should know, you can't play DRM files on CDJs, or anything apart from authorized equipment. Mixvibes is no different. It's iTunes which doesn't allow the track to be played on Mixvibes, not the other way round.

You might be excited to know that DRM-protected music can be used, if purchased from iTunes, used on a Mac, and using Mixvibes Cross on the same machine that's authorized to play the music. However, for many reasons, do not use or buy DRM-protected music due to it's limitations on use. If you're adventurous you can try removing the DRM protection from your files.

EDIT: I'll check this. Perhaps my one purchased track is not DRM-protected.

I am not a computer expert and don't know what DRM means. All I know is that I can import songs purchased from I Tunes to MixVibes, but that it is not possible to drag them to the players. Songs from other sources do not have this problem.
I bought this product because of the I Tunes compatibility it claims on the box. I would be very disaappointed if this compatiblity does not exist, and will try to get my money back.

DRM are copy protected files that can only be used with the apllication you bought them with : in your case iTunes.

All I know is that I can import songs purchased from I Tunes to MixVibes

How do you do that ?
File/mediabase/import iTunes library ?

, but that it is not possible to drag them to the players. Songs from other sources do not have this problem.

Drag them from where ? The mediabase or iTunes itself ?

It is iTunes compatible and like everything else outhere not drm compliant. Understand that drm is a protection, if you can play drm files there are 2 cases :
- you bought them with
- you hacked the protection to play them (illegal of course)

I would be very disaappointed if this compatiblity does not exist, and will try to get my money back.

The compatibility DOES exist, it must be how you though it was working that doesn't. (playing protected files).

Since 2009 iTunes has been selling less DRM protected files and more non-DRM compatible files (iTunes+ files) due to law suits of users who are entitled to use there music as they please and not only with Apple gear...

If you go to the iTunes store you can upgrade your DRM protected files (.mp4) to noraml files (.m4a) for 30cts a track... It's a little steep if you have thousands of files, but definitely worth it since your music is pretty much doomed to stay in an iPod otherwise.
