Pitch bug

Postby Macgyver on 15 Jul 2009, 19:24

I seem to experience a bug with the latest release version of mixvibes Producer.

the pitch display doe snot hold steady on the screen
if pitch is set to 5, it will vary randomly through sumthin like 4.6 up to 5.4 or sumthin like that. it won't hold steady.. fluctuates back n forth... my previous version of Producer does not have this problem. i'm using the time code cd's to play when i use this.. haven't checked it in MIDI mode yet

anyone else see this

I guess that this is not only a Producer problem. I recognized that, too, but if you control it via CD player these work correct and pitch correct, so there is no problem if the software cannot detect the right pitch. Also it might detect the right pitch that lies betwenn two steps i.e. 1.1 and 1.2
Viele Grüße,
Cheers,
A plus,
Steve

did some more testing last night...

i do a lot of scratching so i use absolute mode
last night i switched to relative mode and the pitch slider jitter thing on screen stopped, worked like it was supposed to.

there is still a problem in absolute mode where as the time code cd and song plays... the pitch slider on screen will move a little positive & a little negative continuously .

i uninstalled my DVS 6 version & reinstalled it yesterday b4 testing... i also updated to the 7.218 final version of mixvibes after that & the problem was still there as it was before.

anyone else noticing this?

Hi Macgyver,
Your config report said that you don't use your u46mk2... Can you send a new one with the u46mk2? http://mixvibes.com/support/?p=51&lang=en

- With CD check that:
* If your decks have a Master Tempo function or any on-board effects, make sure they are also disabled as those will interfere with the calibration, and with the time code in general.
* Check that your vinyl/cd config looks like the picture below.
* Check that your u46 mk2 control panel looks like the picture below.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hey Egun, no the config is right. The only time I use the u46mk2 is in my MIDI setup as of now. I havent tested this latest release of Producer on that setup as yet.

I use the ScratchAmp with Producer.
I only use Pioneers CDJ 1000's in my full setup
& no, no master tempo is used on the cd decks.
yup i went through the screen to see the cd config.. all is good

I tested it out again yesterday.. Seems like the pitch thing is not as bad right now...only moves back n forth by +/- 0.1 & not as much as it did when i first tested it. I'm guessing it had something to do with the install since i uninstalled & reinstalled it. But it still does it (but now it's workable)..It's not so bad.

If it was a problem with my setup, i would see the problem in the 7.2 release as well as the 7.1 release of Producer. I have both installed still. But I don't see it in the 7.1 release.
