Bad news, it didnt seem to make any difference.

So the problem seems to be with just the laptop and the usb, when the DVS is set to phono it created a loud warble noise when stationary, when the timecoded vinyl is playing the quality and noise is perfect, also when i bypass to play records the sound quality is very poor aswell.

Any ideas?

Hey,

when you disable the Vinyl control and play a song without timecode control is the sound than normal? Or have you there to some bad noise?

Second: Sometimes the first seconds you have a bad sound when playing timecode vinyl and control it with DVS.

As I can see from your config report the timecode quality of deck 1 is nearly perfect above 99%. When you take the config report was deck 1 also running? because there is only a quality of 0,5%.

But the preamp is also very High. I'm not the specialist with the U-Mix44 but normaly i thing it is too high. When you are at the preferences and at the timecode section do you see the two waves (red and white) like a sinus wave?

Christian

You can post your link here. Thats no problem.

You have low quality while playing without vinyl control thats a bit unusual. But I wait to your video then mybe we can see whats realy going wrong.
Post it here then some other can see it to maybe they know something what we don't see at the moment ;)

Hey,

I have a question first: Why is your input as low that you have to level up the volume to 37db+.
is it not working when the input is at +-0dB? (only a side question but it can cause these "woomble" sounds)

And nearly at the end of your video you are showing the inputs from the mixer but it was not readable for me in which input do you pluged the outputs. (i think it was the LINE IN) but if not please plug it in the LINE IN.

At the end you showed that when playing normal vinyl with bypass the sound is realy bad. This comes from the input boost you have setted at DVS. What happens when you set 0db at the inputs at DVS and enable the PHONO.

Hey,

Try grounding one of your turntables on the mixer, one on the U-Mix and connect both grounding posts with another.

Also make shure, your inputlevels on the U-Mix arent too high as Christian said. (Phono/line)

From the video I´d say there´s too much input or a ground problem.

Do you mean on the mixer itself or on DVS? usually i have the master very low and the channels maxed for safety so i cant slip and over do the volume, is that what you mean?

Its all plugged into line at the back, sorry about the quality

Ill give the bypass another go in a bit doing what you said

The thing about it is, even after i unplug everything so there is nothing connected to the turntables/mixer anymore, even a power supply, i could take my laptop to the top of a mountain with just the u-mix44 still plugged in and you can still see wobbling on the actual DVS.

I think it must be a grounding problem with the laptop, im not to sure.

Yes in DVS your inputs are boosted to 37dB+ thats to high. Ideal is a +-0dB input.

I´d run the calibration again, with the laptop running from the battery and the TTs grounded differently.

Also check the inputlevel of the U-Mix via the sound-prefs in windows and adjust them so nothing is peaking with the umix-panel.
