Hello Cross-team,
- when launching 1.30RC from the start menu the Cross splash screen and a message appears:
"Cross-RC.exe does not work any more. Searching for a solution."
- then the splash screen disappears and the following message appears:
"Cross-RC.exe does not work any more. Due to aproblem the program is terminated. The program will be closed and you will be informed when a solution is available." Then the only choice is to click on the "Close program"-button.
Error messages translated from German ;-)
What I did to cause the issue:
The Intel driver for the onboard graphic chip (Intel G41) provides the very useful functionality to apply customized display settings for every application (for Cross I change resolution to 1024x768 and increase contrast).
When launching a customized preset the respective application is launched with the customized display settings. When the program is closed, the display settings are restored to the default values.
In case of Cross it is now the ONLY way to launch the program. It is not possible to start Cross the common way via start menu any more.
Uninstall/reinstall does not help.
Uninstall/delete entries from registry/reboot/reinstall does not help.
I use this functionality for several applications on WinXP (notebook with Intel onboard graphic) and Win7 (Intel G41) and experience no problems so far.
On WinXP Cross works normal. It could be started normally (without display settings) and it could be launched via the context menu of the graphics driver (with customized display settings).
I don't know if this issue is related to the RC-version since I don't wan't to test this with 1.2.5 ;-)
Maybe someone has a clue (firewall blocking, administration rights...)
