I found no article that deals with the new release candidate so I opened a new one. If this was wrong any of the moderators can copy this to the right place. Thanks!
So I tested the release candidate 1.3.0 for nearly two and an half hour and here is my first report. Please excuse if I am mentioning some improvements that have been there before the new release but this is my first Cross release.
Pros- A smoother and better sound (than DVS 7)
- A nicer look (than DVS 7)
- It looks more compact although it has more features
- The cover view (brilliant!!!!!!!!!)
- The mode that if the needle is on the record you can not add a new track to the deck ("Sperrmodus" in german)
- It did not freeze while I was mixing. I could press all buttons and move all sliders
Cons- No differents skins. At DVS I am using a simple skin without loop view and mixview on the top of the decks, only the media library, the effect rack and the decks. Is there a possibility to configure Cross that I only see this?
- When i minimize Cross there is a strange sound as if you turn the pitch for half of a second on +100. The track stops very shortly and then there is this sound and all runs properly again.
- The serial problem as I already mentioned in the bug report thread. Hopefully I solved this problem for me, but I don't if I did, I have to test it more often.
To me the new release candidate runs very stable. I could not see any difference in the stability between Cross and the DVS 7 I am also running on this notebook. If there are some error that may occur in the future I will report them immidiately.
