evtl Umstieg von Serato/Traktor zu Mixvibes

Postby Daniel Ventura on 16 Oct 2014, 12:47

Hy,

- DVS geht mit sämtlichen Pioneer Mixern die Soundcards haben (DJM750/850/900/2000) out of the box?

- Kann Mixvibes Latenzmässig bei Traktor und Serato mithalten?

- Übernimmt Mixvibes meine Grids etc von meiner Traktor Library?
Vielen Dank schonmal für eure Hilfe!

Hallo Daniel, Willkommen zu MixVibes.

So far my German..

HID is supported for Pioneers (see compatibility list)

You cannot map HID (likely in future). MIDI is fully mappable. Upto 8 MIDI devices can be connected.

DVS is supported for any soundcard (with inputs).

Cross latency <1ms..... (I run 1.1 as my sc can't go lower).

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

thanks for your fast reply and your useful answers!

- Word censored (guess you find it I love walking on it), hid remapping is one of my favourite features in the Traktor hid Integration. One can for example get effects on the Encoders or get the sync button on cdj 2000 (non nxs).

- can you tell me if the flagship Controllers like sx and sz are supported in hid mode? MIDI mode is no fun at all with jog wheels. vdj got a real tight hid Integration for the sx for example.

thanks in advance for your answer!

No the two are only MIDI supported. User mappings are available. Haven't noticed complaints about MIDI with the wheels, but might be I just followed MIDI mapping process from some distance.

Focus for Cross seems to have been getting fully 64-bit (not just 32 bit recompiled) to prepare for a new future of development.

You could give the demo version a try. (full functions, limited period).

thanks for your reply!

as a cdj and DVS user i want a real tight and direct Integration on other devices like Controllers.
MIDI just don't give me the wheel Resolution and latency like hid. if you are used to spin on DVS or hid or native cdjs using MIDI on a controller is horrible because of the very limited Resolution of MIDI.

Given your experience, the new 3.3 might surprise by having improved MIDI handling (my guess is this was a prerequisite for developing same user integration level for HID as with MIDI).

When going to the edge with MIDI it may be of importance to use properly power USB connections. Like not having to much power shared by an internal USB hub.

ok some new questions:

- how are the Loops triggered on the cdj 2000 (how to extend shorten the Loop lenght?) same as in Traktor by pressing shift and Loop etc.?

- Does MV read out the Beatgrids from my Traktor collection?
(Beatgrids are stored in the Audiofile itself)

- How to deal with flexible grids, can i simply set a Kind of warp marker that tells the app that from this point there is another tempo?

thanks for answering!
