Ok guys WE GOT IT !!!

So I have tested the asio4all solutions with my a heavy Quad laptop we have for shows arround the world and guess what ?
It was still laguy !!!

Asio4all is buggy with 2 CDJ... BUT Pioneer have a new drivers that can handle multiple devices into one object :

Tested and it is working fine even on a C2D 2Ghz.

Concerning the other issue with asio4all and the U46, I think it will be smart for now to stay away from this as long as your soundcard already have native drivers.

OK, I removed both driver, Asio4all and MV/Esi U46.
Then I installed Asio4all new. It did not work either, nor with the 2 CDJ neither with the U46 I connected after disconnecting the CDJs.

So, I have to remove Asio for4all again. Then install Esi/MV U46 again and then the Pioneer driver. Right?

Then , I select the appropiate driver for the system I am working with. Pioneer for the CDJs or, Esi/MV when using my U46? Did I understand well?

It would be nice and comfortable to have a request from the installation wizzard, something like:" Which devices are you using? Please click on soundcards and controller you want to use" and to have an automatically installed driver for the stuff you are working with.
I had a lot of help from Ralf and Stefan, and, as an engineer and Producer user for about 3 years, some experience. I don`t want to imgine somebody totally virgin with this kind of digital stuff!

The other thing I am wondering is, is there nobody else using CDJ 400 with similar problems???
I try again, let`s see, what happens.

I tested both set ups, and, guys, it is working well
I will go on testing and maybe, have my first gig on Saturday with a new laptop, Cross and CDJ400. I will take my current Laptop with U46, Producer and Vestax with me to have a back up in case of problems.

Would be nice, to get the Vestax VCI 100 working well with Cross, Jog Wheels and everything.

It was not easy, but now we' ve got it.

By the way: the fine thing in MixVibes is the universal usage according to machines and additional hardware. And the programmes themselves are fine & stable up to best & rock solid. So is the ESI and its drivers. I think about the Pioneer staff also know how to do their job. So in my opinion the weak point in this row had to be ASIO4ALL. It's a fine driver. But for other applications. And even VFX-CONTROL works impressive on my laptop with sound AND video (ok, no HD...). And scratching worked fine with Cross, Producer and VFX-CONTROL. So this also couldn't be the problem. But maybe it's also within the rights. Like this might be our problem with the VCI-100. I will try to check this tonight...

Ok, I checked the files of the VCI.Everything seems to be ok but the problem persists. I will start a new threat in the english spoken forum to keep it more simple and will place any solution here again in german. I hope that it's OK this way.

Für die nichtenglischsprechenden Kollegen: Habe alles rund um die VCI überprüft und konnte keinen Fehler finden. Das Problem ist aber noch da. Ich werde einen neuen Threat darüber im englischsprachigen Forum starten und ggf die Ergebnisse hier in Deutsch hineinschreiben...

Sowohl Diegos, als auch meine VCI-100 sind schlichtweg ALT. Das bedeutet, dass wir mit der Firmware 1.1 arbeiten, was ich mittlerweile auch bestätigen konnte. Mit Oktober 2007 wurden die VCI-100 mit der Firmware 1.2 ausgeliefert, die diese Probleme nicht verursachen sollen. Man erkennt die neue Firmware im Zweifelsfall auf den ersten Blick daran, dass hinten ein FARBIGER (meistens grüner) Aufkleber mit der Seriennummer angebracht ist. Wenn man die Konsole einschaltet, wartet, bis die üblichen Verdächtigen leuchten und dann GLEICHZEITIG beide "JOG MODE"-Tasten oberhalb der Jogs drückt und wieder loslässt und dann noch die Tasten unterhalb der Jogs leuchten, dann arbeitet man mit der Firmware 1.1 (wie leider auch meine... )

Man kann bei DJ Tech Tools eine kleine Platine bestellen (ca. 20$ laut meinen Info), die einem die Möglichkeit bietet, die Konsole selber zu flashen. Es gibt mittlerweile nicht nur die Originalversion 1.2 sondern auch noch mindestens zwei andere Fimrwares von Leuten die nicht zu Vestax ghören, sich aber gehörig Gedanken um das Thema gemacht haben. Und so wie es aussieht, überschreibt man nicht die ursprüngliche Firmware, sondern kann immer wieder zurück springen (das ist mal nahe am User, Gratulation).

Wem das alles aber viel zu gefährlich und zu aufwändig ist, der hat noch eine weitere Möglichkeit. Es gibt einen Technischen Support, der einem die Konsole kostenfrei (bis auf einen Versandweg) flasht! Da es sich zudem um einen offiziellen Service handelt, gehe ich mal davon aus, dass auch die Garantie davon unberührt bleibt, bzw. der eigentliche Flashprozess durch Vestax abgesichert ist. Ich werde jedenfalls meine Konsole erstmal dahin schicken und anschliessend hier berichten, ob der Fehler dadurch beseitigt wurde. Phadedvision jedenfalls meinte, dass die VCI-100 prima mit Cross funktioniert. Daher bin ich guter Dinge. Im Anschluss werde ich mir bei Gelegenheit noch die Platine besorgen, damit ich die anderen Firmwares auch noch probieren kann.
