At this rate, we'll get a slightly longer (40sec) "coming soon" video in late May 2016... for an ***App*** no less.

Competition is beating MV to the punch though. Novation just released a looper called "Waves" I think...

I suppose apps is where all the money's at. It makes some sense in an increasingly crowded DJ software market. The competition is getting pretty stiff there. Apps probably make more sense: less resources for development, shorter Beta phase, easier/quicker updates. If MV could somehow make the Cross PC/Mac and App versions compatible that would be huge (maybe something through SoundCloud). Still, if all they did was make sure the Cross PC/Mac was super stable/reliable, that would be good enough for me. While 3.11 is pretty solid now, I wouldn't say it's as reliable as v3.2. IMO that was probably the most stable version to date, and I've been with the software since v1.7

The other thing that occurred to me was the fact that Cross features the most hassle-free compatibility with Rekordbox (and CDJs) in the industry. That's a big selling point for Cross. Pioneer has been developing Rekordbox DJ at a breakneck speed since it was introduced. All of the changes in Rekordbox must have the MV team scrambling to maintain compatibility. That's IF they decide to continue being compatible. I think it's fair to say there's a good amount of distance between the two programs now. Pioneer DJ and MixVibes may have ended their compatibility agreement with the introduction of Rekordbox DJ.

I'd also like to know what's up with SoundCloud. They're about to start a streaming service that will probably require a fee. Does that mean Cross users will have to buy/upgrade to a paid membership to keep enjoying the benefits we already have? Now that SoundCloud has signed deals with the Big 3 major music labels will we be able to post or record mixes without fear of take-down? Will we have to pay to do it? If Cross users pay for the streaming service will it allow for any additional benefits to us the DJs?

Whatever it is, I hope the long wait is because their trying to get it perfect.

To their credit, I do like the new web page. Not much on it (2 slides), but it looks slicker and more up to date. Good job.

I guess I'll just keep checking in periodically.

I have to say though, I'm "renting" Rekordbox DJ right now and I like it. Especially now that the DVS is out. I really hope MV drops something soon. We're coming up on a year since the last update.
