Want to become a DJ but not enough $$$ ?

You can spin for $300 with an Asus EeePC and MixVibes HOME Edition

In this video, I used a MIDI Controler (Hercules DJ Console MK2), but you can mix without that and use your keybord/mouse.

Thanks to MixVibes for the EeePC skin. Its great.
i also have a EeePC, i love it
I have tried another DJ software, but it doesn't work with this screen (only 800*440).

Cheap and light setup, what else ?

i bought two turntables (reloop rp 2000 + rp 4000) for 100€
one ecler nuo2 for 140€
and mixvibes DVS for 70€ with a maya 44 usb.
a friend gave me an old PC.

so... fo 310€ i have my DJ set. turntables are old, but it's really nice for start.

it was 1 years ago, and now i finaly bought a laptop for 220€.

so... i think you can start with better equipment, , and you need to be patient, and jump on bargain. ;)

not eveybody can get a free PC though. you were lucky... If someone was to give you a PC you could actually start DJing for $40 with the Home edition. ;)

hello,

I'm a french new user of mixvibes (home version demo for the moment), and I 'm the owner of a stock eeepc701.

I didn't find any 800x480 skin with the demo, so I can't try correctly this software before buying it. Where can I found this eeepc dedicated skin please ? even a test/ugly one, it's just to test the software and decide my purchase or not (I know on the internet people say that eeepc 701 works with mixvibes, but I prefer figure it myself...)

Another thing : I've seen mixvibes home edition (suficient for hobby djing) comes with a little USB stereo sound dongle for headset monitoring. Is there any sound problem to be expected with the realtech integrated 2.0 sound chip of the eeepc?

thank you (and sorry for my english)
