Pioneer DDJ-1000 a good "transition" controller for beginner

The house kit where I work as a resident is the DDJ-SB3. I learned the basics and then honed my skills on it for a good while now. Aside from my shifts, they let me practice on it whenever the place is closed so now I’m pretty good but I think I made the rounds. I want to step my skills, career and scope of possibilities even further so I’m thinking of equipping myself with a better kit.

Although I don’t think I’m ready to invest in the full-on professional cdjs gear ($$$), I also want something that can allow me to one day get there.

I also want to include a turntable into my setup. I happen to have an entry-level one (Stanton).

I find the DDJ-1000 to be the perfect "in-between" sweetspot controller with just the right amount of specs to last me long and allow me to go from pretty good beginner to average to very decent DJ. I could play with more than 2 channels, include a turntable and get a closer feeling to that of CDJs. I could also bring it to work as it stays portable and easy to plug in10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254

What do you think?
