May I ask how much experience you have with using a mic connected to a PC or laptop/mac in different gig environments.

The technical basics are easy but there are good reasons why there are various hard and software solutions to have mic(s) behave.. . Also there are a lot of mic types (let alone brands).

I would definitely recommend to use a separate mixer as this avoids messing up your whole sound.

But just like you did asking is the first step in having the devteam consider it..

My experience is mostly recording with mixing desks and 16 track reel to reel tape to be fair.

Most venues I've played at usually have some kind of mixer in some state of complete delapidation before the signal goes out to the PA. Push comes to shove I can always connect the microphone to that assuming it has an input with a preamp.

Other challenge is to be sure your mono mic delivers stereo signal.

The pre in my controller is already doing that. No guarantees that someone elses controller, if they are reading this thread and trying to figure this out, is gonna do that though.
