U-MIX44 technical questions

Dear All,

I am thinking of buying a U-MIX44 soundcard, because I need to record audio from up to 4 channel simultaneously. The product page http://www.mixvibes.com/products/u-mix-44 says that the device has 4 Line inputs, however it is not clear to me whether these 4 inputs are switchable or it is possible to record 4-channel audio from all of them at the same time. Can you please clarify?

Another question is: if it is possible to record 4-channel audio with U-MIX44, can I expect that the latency is the same for all 4 channels? What I mean is, for example, if I connect all 4 inputs to the same source and record the phonogram, will all 4 channels on the phonogram be identical (to the precision of noise and, probably, unequal gain), or should I also expect some time shift between the channels?

Can I find somewhere more detailed technical data about U-MIX44?

I am really looking forward for you response!

You're questions are not just hardware related but also depend on the used software.
The 4 inputs are mono. So be sure you don't want 8 inputs to record 4 stereo.
The latency is the same for all channels.
The Cross software records stereo only so always combined.

Other recording software may pick individual channels.

Hope this helps. Please tell if you have more questions.

Thank you for you comments, guys!

Yes, I understand that the device has 2 stereo == 4 mono inputs. This is what I need -- to record up to 4 mono channels simultaneously. Do I understand it right that U-MIX44 does allow it?

If you register your license key in your user profile you should be able to download from the downloads section.

You need a recent version to be able to run at Yosemite.

somehow my pm's are not going out from outbox.
so i added my serial to my profile, i can see some new stuff, but still no software for u-mix44 Mac.
i read that only Cross runs on mac, is there a possibility to download it (if i have serial) or i have to buy Cross as well?

Might it be you have a license for MixVibes Ultimate.

That is (used to be) windows software. Development stopped years ago.
In that case you can upgrade to Cross.
