Hello all I've been DJing profesionally for about 14 years with a PC that I keep tuned up nicely. Lately I've had to PC's (windows 8) crash on me. Not while DJing, but just at home,,,,crash. Anyway I'm giving thought to downgrading to an android chromebook or some android platform and using Cross DJ. I already have it on my android phone and it seems pretty cool but I
m not sure I'd use the phone version to DJ professionally?? Right now I use Traktor Pro and have been since 2003.

Would love any feedback!

:eek: welcome to mixvibes fourm ,, dont have any insight on your android issues/questions ,, but woyuld like two things
info on the crash on your p c ,, in order to be able to help you sort it out ,,,
also take time to regerster the software licence key in the fourm , user control panel/profile/serial # ,, this is to allow you acess to the download section for free updated versions ,,

so again welcome :cool:

The android is good, but still some differences. So it depends somewhat on the way you work.

In PC/MAC you have
- more features in GUI at once.
- all MIDI devices supported and can be mapped; many pre-mapped;
- access to external hdd (android only internal+internal SD).
- video support
- upto 3 stereo input signals and upto 4 output output signals (vs 0 / 2)
- timecode supported

And usually PC/Mac has way more CPU power, mem and internal transmission speeds.

None of these have to be a limitation. Many gigs can be done with an android device. And it is a great backup for any PC/Mac crash.
