Hi everyone,

I installed Cross DJ free 3.2.2 on Windows 8 and plugged in a Pioneer ddj-sb. I'm getting the error "Error while opening Line (Pioneer DDJ-SB): bad format". The Pioneer is activated in Windows playback device though. Can anyone help please?

When does this happen. On Startup?

The Free version does not support HID or MIDI, so you can only use the SB as a Soundcard. As there is no Preview/Cue in the Free version you can only use the SB for Master out.

If you want to try the SB with Cross you'd better use the Demo version (more functions but limited period).

You also may want to check at Pioneer site if you're using latest firmware and drivers.

BTW, the error pops up whenever I try to select ddj-sb in setup audio.

Same error with Cross DJ demo. Does the ddj-sb require a driver for Cross DJ to use?

I would say that you need the ASIO driver

installed the Pioneer driver. it's weird because serato DJ intro does recongnize the mixer but not Cross DJ demo.

No, it's still failing. Cross DJ demo > setup >Audio
- whenerver I try to select Pioneer ddj-sb as directsound, I get Error while opening "Line (Pioneer DDJ-SB)" bad foprmat
- whenever I try to select Pioneer ddj-sb under ASIO, I get Error while opening "Pioneer DDJ_SB ASIO" can't load AQSIO drivfer =\Users\myname

Made progress. Downloaded and installed Asio driver from ASIO4ALL.com. Pioneer DDJ_SB ASIO is now selectable under Cross DJ demo > setup > ASIO.
Track can be played from Cross DJ demo.
However, no buttons on ddj-sb works. It seems that sound transmits to ddj-sb but the mixer is not mapped.
Any clue?

Is there a user manual available on this website on how to configure Cross DJ for ddj-sb or any mixer for that matter?
