Hello,
My friend wants me to DJ at his bachelor party, there are going to be so many people, all i have is my laptop, U-Mix Control Pro, and Cross DJ (latest version), is it enough to run the party? and is the big number of phones in the place going to have any effects on the sound card (audio hiccups for example) ?
It is going to be my first time mixing in front of more than 10 people haha.
Thanks,

if you are comfortable with your skills then the hardware will stand up to the test,

dont think the phones will have any effect on the sound ,,

you have two good pieces to the puzzel to make the night work ,,two more pieces you didnt mention ,, one is your confidence and two is your ability to have fun /enjoy what you are doing ,, so all this being said ,,keep making the music ,,

You need some additional speakers...
Above 10 persons your laptop speakers likely have trouble creating bass...
Have fun

i would quickly get some powered 15 inch speakers that will hold people for hours....

2 can hold about 30-75 people and the other speakers will just be add-ons sir.

I agree with what was just said.
I recently did a house party with my N4 controller, Macbook, Ext Mixer/amp and speakers. We also pushed a video mix from Cross to a 37 in TV. It all worked like a charm.
Go for it!

No your laptop speakers won't do. Borrow or otherwise get at least some powered speakers with a subwoofer. You are getting into the territory where you need a basic PA amp and speakers here. People at parties talk, which will drown out your laptop speakers. People are also big squishy bags of mostly water that literally absorb sound waves just by being there. You need to be able to compensate for both.

Shouldn't have put up the joke on speakers I guess....
Daniel had replied with the serious content, so thought this could be added.
Just have fun. It's with friend who likely know your exercise. So don't bother about groundloop, feedback, compression, limiters, balanced cabling, single power socket supply, or such.
Few people start with a truck (or more) filled with high end equipment.
Keep smiling, and if anything is disrupted fall back to A Cappella version of Happy Birthday, or any song the crowd were drilled with in their time in the cradle...
