 first source of info will be the manual ,, not shure about the app but the software has a built in link to the manual,, top left corner a tab ,,,display menue /help/manual ,, this should get you basic set up and sound config options ,, remember the Cross free has some limitations as described in the product page and product comparison overview ,, hope this helps you get started

Cross Free uses only one stereo output. This should be connected to an input of your mixer. If you want to record from mixer, you have to connect an output to the input of your MAC.

If you want to test multi-channel output, you should try using Cross Demo version. More functions than Free, but for limited period (Free is unlimited in time).
You do need to have a sound card capable of handling the channels (or aggregate sound cards).

Yes, you can use audio out of MAC ('head phone') to connect to your mixer for 1 stereo channel.

The Cross Free version only uses 1 stereo channel. Cross DJ allow for more channels (upto 4 decks and preview).

Not sure if this answers your question.

All Cross outputs are line level. So yes you can. If your mixer has phono input make sure not to use it.
