Looking to buy a new DJ Controller

Postby Diskized on 18 Sep 2014, 18:20

Hello everyone. It is now time for me to bid my Torq DJ and Xponent farewell as I try and move on in the DJ world. However, I do need a new DJ controller to work with Cross. Im not at all sure what controller I would like, all I want is something that will give me minimal problems with Cross. Currently, I own the Numark Orbit and a few other MIDI Keyboards, all of which I plan to use in my setup. If I could just get some recommendations for the most bad ass controllers to use with Cross, I would greatly appreciate it! Please know that I am also on a tight budget so either give me a cheap one or one that is so awesome I have to save up for! Thank you all! :D

One that it would be awesome based on my experience with the DDJ-SX is the DDJ-SX2. pricey but worth every penny.

 too many variables , for sake of conversation ,, what are you want ing to accomplish with the controller ,, no sence in recommending a two player controller when you might want to expand to 4 deck usage ,,etc ,, budget wise suggest the U-Mix Control Pro 2 ,, limited expandability ,, solid controller for the price but not a battle controller and getting harder to find ,, ,, pleanty of newer controllers and also check the avaibility of already mapped controllers ,, unless you want to endeveror to mapp it for Cross , no great feat but requires effort ,
info for a better recomadition for your needs

That Gemini looks amazing! Do you have a video of it in action? Also, is there a mapping for the controller already made for Cross? And now Im going to answer the question of what I want in my controller. When I DJ, i mainly use the hot cues, effects, and jog wheels in my songs. I do use a little bit of everything (except for the gigantic CUE button), but im always trying to figure out new things with my Xponent. As mentioned earlier, I use a ton of quick ques to actually line up my songs. I like to be able to line up a cue on one song with a cue on another song. I like to have a plan of action for how I do, so i do a great deal of preparation making sets before a gig. I just started using the comment sections on the songs to give me notes on when to play certain songs with other songs. I guess at the end of the day I want to be able to make very melodic mixes flow flawlessly together. I know that that is probably everyone's dream but still. Also quick question, what is the point of having a main cue button? I cannot for the life of me figure out a practical use for it. Someone enlighten me. And if you have any other tips please feel free to share!

Thanks again everyone! Especially FigDJ and Daniel, you guys have been with me from day one and I cannot thank you enough!
