Have been using VDJ for a few years now and came across Mixvibes. Downloaded the free version to check it out and really like the look of it. Contemplating jumping ship to Cross DJ, just wanted to see if any had some input on the learning curve to changing for anyone that has done this in the past.
Thank you

Hi Crankpusher, welcome to MixVibes. The proof of the pudding is in eating it.
Copy 100 track files to an temp location, load to Cross. Play around for an hour try the buttons etc.
Lock your self in a small room. Read the manual; mostly to get familiar with terminology.
Get out of the room after an hour (don't forget the paper work...).
Try once more.
Try using playlists, smartlist, sampler, changing fields, etc.
When done, delete the copied tracks and collection and start with your new collection containing your tracks... You might consider import. Though I would prefer to make a fresh start, not copying history.
Just enjoy.
And don't hesitate to post in the forum if you have a question.

Pretty similar.
Pros:
Better key detection
More logical layout.
Cheaper.
Accurate beat grid, sync and BPM.
Very stable, with no crashes yet.
Very accurate DVS system with low latency.
Cons:
Colour scheme is a bit pallid (Could be a pro for some people)
Beatmatcher moves too fast and VDJ shows the peaks of the beats better.
VDJ Has more configurable options.

In Cross, open menu, help, user manual and you're linked to the manual...

Note you can change its zoom, and thus its scrolling speed!

I am aware you can zoom but its just not comfortable to look at. Much prefer VDJ's as it shows the peaks of the beat not just a noisy waveform. I turn it off as it gives me a headache.
Just personal preference though.

I can understand this. But the moving speed is then not the problem

Well, for me it actually is aswell. In VDJ you could perfectly align two tracks, because it allowed a lookahead of like 40 seconds. You can't do that with CrossDJ. This was very hard for me to get used to. I still prefer CrossDJ though
