Video Sampler Upgrade

I recently purchased Cross DJ 3 and the video plugin, thinking that this combo would provide all the functionality I needed, as I am not really interested in video sampling. I only had the opportunity to really dive into the program last week only to realize that some of the functionality that I am looking for (being able to play synced video clips along with audio-only tracks) is seemingly not possible with just the video plugin. In looking at the purchase/upgrade chart I don't see a way to upgrade to Cross with full video functionality without losing the $30 I paid for the video plugin.

Am I missing something? Does someone have any info that I'm overlooking?

I'm very excited about using Cross live. I've spent a couple of years with Virtual DJ and have had a lot of problems when trying to play video. Cross seems to not only be much more solid overall, but the beatgridding is worlds beyond anything else out there.

Thanks in advance.

Strange you say you bought Cross DJ 3.0 along with video plugin, as there's no video plugin anymore since 3.0
Video features are now built-in.

But anyway, 'unlocking' video in Cross DJ only removes the watermark on master output.
All video features, except video sampler (only Cross), are available.
So I guess you do not need to pay anything more!

Did you work with the seperate audio video loading?
You could try using decks A for vid and C for aud as well.

Sorry if I did not understand what you like to achieve.

Most of my library is comprised of tracks with video so choosing separate audio video loading will cause unnecessary steps.

I need to be able to load synced video tracks into the samplers to be displayed when I am playing audio-only tracks. Either I'm missing how to achieve that with what I purchased or if that's not possible, I'd like to know how I can purchase the $89 upgrade without wasting the $30 I already spent to "unlock" the video features that I do have.

I don't really get what you want.
If you want to load video tracks on audio-only ones, enabling "separate audio/video loading" seems the way to go. Give it a try!

Moreover, as already stated above:

Also check the "Default video Track sync mode" in the video preferences.

Thanks for the replies, but separate loading of audio and video is not what I'm after and would really slow down my live workflow. What I need is to be able to play synced clips in the samplers. I can load video in the samplers but it won't display on the main display. The audio plays, but the video doesn't show. From what I read in these forums, I need the full version of Cross to do this, however this isn't made completely clear anywhere. Since I've already paid $29 to unlock the video features in Cross DJ, I don't want to spend another $89 to upgrade to the full version and am hoping someone knows how to get around wasting the money I've spent.

Thanks.

So you want the video sampler feature, not only play video synced to audio, right?
Then you need Cross indeed, and you must pay the upgrade price: 89$.
You're not wasting your money as the upgrade is already 40$ less than the full price.

I think that's what I want. I'm not clear on what constitutes video sampler features. I assumed it was something to do with live sampling, not simply playing back samples. I suppose I misunderstood when I made my initial purchase.

What I'm concerned about, and was hoping that someone from Mixvibes could speak to, is that I understand that there are different features sets for different costs, but I spent $29 unlocking the video features already. If I had known that this one feature wouldn't be included I would have just paid the $89, or $129 straight away. Now I've already paid $49, plus $29, and now I need to pay $89 to get this feature I'm currently missing. In effect, I need to pay nearly $170 when I should have only paid $129. Just wondering if there's another option to not have to spend that additional $40 that I shouldn't have spent.

Not trying to sound like a baby (since it's essentially my own fault), but money doesn't grow on trees. ;)

Anyway, thanks for the input.
