What happened to the new forum guys ?

I reported an issue with the forum weeks ago and the only reply I got was that the forum would be replaced next week. That was ages ago.
Any movement on this guys please ?

Is it possible to remove the right column in order to enlarge content area? And put links of and search field in top of the forum.
(between header and categories path)

I think it can be more readable like that.

This will benefit some users. But with all screen sizes and dpi's around any change will have positive and negative effects. The right side contains more menu's depending on a forum users role, so moving to the top is not that easy.
Main issue with the search is that keywords match easy with (to) many topics.
