Cross LE checks for the controller at startup. At that moment it should be recognised by the OS as this passes the info.

Many controllers take a while to be installed. Try to use the same port every time as this means a kind of reinstall. All automatic but not to practical.

Sometimes a reboot is required after connecting to a new port.

Any news in solving the connection problem? I've just received my Envivo 1274, and it also just comes with a short flash of light in the buttons, and then nothing more. I've tried different cables, different USB-ports, and an unnumbered times of reboots, but still no luck. I can see in the Windows hardware manager that the device shows up as MIDI 8, but it doesn't seems to be connected correctly.

Which version of Cross are you using, which OS do you have.
Have you checked the manufacturer website for update driver(s).

The Cross software is bundled by the manufacturer of the controller. Does Cross start if you have the controller connected.

Cross gets the info from the OS on start up. If no info about a connected controller is provided Cross LE can't determine if the version is licensed and won't start.

I was using Windows 10, but I've just made a clean install of windows 7, still no luck. Iøve tried CrossLE 2.5 and 2.6, but no difference. Yesterday I had the device over to a friend of mine, and it worked right out the box at his Windows 7 set up.
I can't find any drivers for the Envivo 1274 anywhere, so that's not gonna help.
Cross dosen't start up automatic, when the device is plugged in either.

Solution for you all (I hope). I also have the envivo 1274. Was given it this weekend. I run a macbook pro and had the same issue - serial number registered, software all ok but controller just giving a brief flash on connection via usb and then..nothing. It seems to be a USB 3.0 compatibility issue for the hardware. (and I only have 3.0 ports on my macbook). I connected it via a USB hub which is 2.0 and I'm now up and running. Seems like that downgrades the connection so the controller can communicate. Its a cheap fix and will solve many of the problems you're describing I think. Let me know!!
