no sound just hi-pitched tone?

connected all last night select two tracks both t/tables just emit hi pitched noise, its recognising the tracks on the laptop
2x technics 1 mixer plugged into laptop
any ideas?

Check that the monitoring of the inputs of the sound card is muted.
