Denon MC2000 cannot work with Cross DJ free

Just reposted this to gain a wider audience, I just installed the Cross DJ free on my Macbook Air for my MC2000 yesterday.
Unfortunately it does not seem to work, only the vinyl button on my MC2000 is lighted up, the rest like loading tracks, volume adjustments all does not response on the controller.
The only option in preferences of Cross DJ free is the selection of Sound Output ( MC2000 ). The rest of the inputs are greyed out.
Does this mean that my Macbook Air is not compatible with Cross DJ Free or must I get the paid version.
Fyi, my fren's Cross DJ which came with his U-Mix works ok for my MC2000 when he came over with his Macbook Pro. Anyone can help ?? Thanks
