Hello all mixvibes users. I have avoided joining forum until now because, as with most geezers, I don't like asking for directions when lost. I'm new to digital (3 Months with Cross DJ) but have been mixing vinyl for 25yrs. I'm a qualified electrician so am used to reading schematics, specs., technical instructions etc so i thought i would try and learn what i could by just using the thing rather than asking about every single aspect of equipment. Up until now I've done ok to the extent that I use this for house parties and making mix cd's and have put any problems and limitations down to own my lack of knowledge about software. That is however until the latest Cross DJ update. The added features apart from key display all seem geared toward iPhone users and timecoders. This wouldn't bother me but for the fact that it seems to have affected the stability of the software and now seems to have more bugs than 'STARSHIP TROOPERS'. As I only really posted to say hi and have too many questions for one post, I will just start with my main problem. When I drag and drop a new iTunes playlist into Cross DJ, IT QUITS!! and shows a screen saying 'Cross DJ has unexpectedly quit, would you like to reopen?' - Well, as I'm in the middle of a set, yes I suppose i would, but I'd rather you hadn't quit in the first place or at least asked first. I did not have this happen before the update so has anyone got an idea what is happening. Any help would be appreciated. P.S. I apologise if this is the wrong way to ask for technical help but i'm struggling to understand forum setup at the moment and only seem to be able to access this bit. P.P.S I'm Obviously not a computer boffin but i'm not a TOBY either, please take this into account with any replies.TA (Kirk out)

Thanks for your help Daniel. I'll give that a try. I'm a little bit naive with computer stuff as I was a vinyl DJ for ages and only bothered to get a macbook recently purely for music purposes (sick of carrying heavy bags about). As a result I'm woefully behind the curve technically but am learning. I was starting to think at 48 that I was getting too old for this but having seen your profile I'm heartened to see that your still blockrocking and haven't become too cynical with it all to help someone out. As they used to say on your side of the world once upon a time MAX RESPECT. P.S. My favourite american DJ is Frankie Bones but you are now right up there. Many thanks Matey. E13
