Hi i have a U-Mix Control Pro 2 and Cross DJ which ive been running on an old laptop with 32bit windows vista. i have just upgraded to an all singing all dancing laptop (alienware) loaded with windows 8. i know i shoould've checked compatibilty before i bought it but wasnt thinking straight. are the controller and software going to work on 64bit windows 8

There has been entries on the board about this same subject and the indications are that it works. just have to make sure you optimize Windows 8 for real time audio processing. there are a couple of threads about it. Since you got an Alienware computer I don't think you will have any problems.
I am pretty much in the same situation. I had a Hard disk failure with my old laptop so it is repaired and in use for backup now. my new laptop is an ASUS ROG 4th generation i7 and I am about to install the software + drivers and so on for the UMCP-2.
I'll go ahead with that and report my finding in this thread. Perhaps we can compare notes.

I can now confirm that Cross 2.5 and U-Mix Control Pro are 100% windows 8 compatible. Recently done a whole day set without a glitch . Thanks all for your guidance
