Mixers to suit Mixvibes Cross

Hey Crew,

I noticed that most of the suitable controllers for Mixvibes Cross are full all in one units.

As I prefer to use turntables, I am looking for a suitable stand alone mixer that will run all the FX functions on Mixvibes Cross.

The only one they have listed is the Vestax PMC-05ProIV.
Has anyone ever tested any other mixers?

Cheers,

Tomcat

any mixer that has a 4in 4 out sound card ( that is 2 stereo in/out) and some MIDI to be mapped to the FX should work.

but if you have a external sound card amy mixer will work but you would need some small MIDI controller to add for the FX control

  a little bit more info on your set up and what you want to accomplish,,can suggest the U-Mix Control Pro,has the inputs to allow for turn table control ,, plus mapped MIDI control for fx ,,,,inf you already have a proper sound card for timecode control ,then a mappable controller ,like the akai lp8 might be the perfect add on for your set up to control of fx,,,as always a little bit more info to make a good suggestion

Hey Guys,

Sorry about the vague description.
Essentially, I own a Numark Mixtrack Pro however I don't like using the small decks so I want to hook up my turntables.

I'm aware I can use both but it gets quite bulky with all that gear.

Essentially, I want to hook a stand alone mixer to my turntables, then hook the mixer to my Mixvibes interface.

Similar to the setup in the following video:

I do already have a AKAI LPD8 - Can I set this up to control the FX section?

Cheers,

Tomcat

when you already have the crosspack interface any mixer will do because you will be mixing externally and yes the AKAI LPD8 can be mapped to the FX. you just hook up you TT's to line in on the Cross interface then the output from Cross interface goes to to the line in on your mixer.
The AKAI LPD8 is already mapped inside Cross for sampler but you can press the x2 to double it then delete aloe mapping commands inside sampler and make a new map for FX

Thanks for the reply.
That makes plenty of sense.

Another question, if the mixer has it's own built in FX controls, can you route them back to control the Cross FX?
For example, if I was to use the Stanton M.207 mixer (link below), could I set this up to run the FX in Cross?

I know I could just stick to the mixers set FX but I really like using the ones in Cross.

Cheers,

Tomcat

No, the mixer you linked doesn't have MIDI controls, which are needed to control the Cross FX. If you want to run the FX on the mixer, and the FX in Cross, you could do that, but not run the FX of Cross with the mixer.

I would say, use both, but that will require an extra MIDI controller, or a creative keyboard mapping for your laptop.
