Cross 2.0 stuttering

Postby pcmuzzyboy1980 on 26 Jun 2013, 20:47

Firstly, apologies for posting this in here and not the support section, but i cannot start a new topic in the support section, yet i can here. :?:

Anyway i am new to the Mixvibes family having only today set up Cross Pack 2.0 on my laptop. Everything seems to be working away fine except when the screen is maximised the track playing stutters its way through to the end. When i minimise the screen the track plays fine.

Has anyone any ideas as to a solution for this?

Please download and install the latest version of Cross, which is 2.4.0 and see if it cures your problem

Downloaded 2.4 and there's no change.

Another thing i've noticed is that when one track is loaded up on its own, it will play no problems with the screen maximised. Load another track up into player B and it starts stuttering, even without track B playing. Minimize the screen however and the playing track plays fine with a track loaded into player B.

PC spec and setup are as follows:

ASUS Eee PC 1005PE
Intel Atom CPU N450 1.66GHZ
2GB Ram
Windows 7 Ultimate
U46MKII
Pioneer CDJ350
Vestax PDX2000
Vestax PMC 05 ProII

At first i was concerned about the processor speed but noticed others seem to be running at 1.66ghz with no problems.

Cheers for the tips on clearing cookies.

And thanks for the welcome. :)

Dude, tbh it's a miracle it's running at all.

In regard to passmark-benchmark scores, Mixvibes recommends at least a cpu with around 2000pts.

yours has 275.

Hmm that doesn't sound too clever. I knew nothing about these figures before I bought Cross. So I may be looking at a new laptop then? This could prove to be more money/hassle than its worth.

You could try playing around with and disabling a few Windows services you don't actaully need whilst using the software.

Also you could play around with the soundcard's ASIO buffer sample rate.

I've tried Cross with timecodes on my Samsung Netbook (N145 Plus) and didn't really have any problems only high CPU usage but thats to be expected with a little Atom processor.

Thanks Jim. Yeah, ur Samsung netbook will be similar to mine in term s of power. It's just annoying that it works fine until I load up track B.

Can u direct me as to how I play about with the ASIO buffer rate?

Cheers.
