Well not yet looked at the 2.4.0 RC update yet,but if i get this wright i have options now of sample decks or standard decks C-D, if i read this right, i was not expecting that, although something i would have hoped for to give me more flexibility, you have just made my day,iam almost at the point i do not have to think about other DJ software options, not that i want to as i love Cross, all that is missing is the ability to map the lights on out controllers on/off position etc, and would be nice to see a slicer effect like in serato, which is the same as flux mode in traktor, and then a overhaul of the fx.
But like i say i was not expecting this,so i am grateful as it stands and many thanks, it could not off come at a better time, just got me Pioneer DDJ SX and i have almost finished mapping it,all is going good.
Thanks_ Thanks_ Thanks_ Thanks_ Thanks_ Thanks_ Thanks_

Flux mode is the same as slip mode in Cross. Slicer is quite different to these though. It's also only available to DDJ-SX users in serato. It's a great feature though.

Thanks for the input, not yet tried the slip mode, although i have used the flux mode in traktor, think i must have been getting mixed up,although traktor does have that new feature that lets you cut in like the slicer in serato, not to be confused with serato Roll mode which is not so good really, and also the slice mode in serato seems to jump on after using the slicer much more than it should, think i may have encountered some bug.
should really start playing with Cross over the next couple of days if not tomorrow, as i have almost finished mapping this new version of Cross, quite excited, as its all going well, until now i have always been limited with dodgy controllers and dodgy MIDI,so never really used Cross to its full extent, only in trying to set up Cross with my controllers, but pound for pound i do not think their is another software, that is so on the fly, just something about everything being totally at hand.
Top it of with the track Pre listen that is so quick, its the best for being spontaneous, something all the other contenders overlook, something so simple yet so vital,i am lost without, also loading up sample banks with your controller and recording to sample slots, is far simpler than traktors remix decks, I am loving this, would just love to see some better beat cutting/chopping, (check out deckadances new version, its the bomb), but it lacks the refinement in some very obvious areas, but its beat slicing effects are the best by far, better than virtual djs Beat chopping grid fx.
Okay im going on now lol,its just that iam quite excited now,at what could be and what i can now do in Cross with the MIDI switchable sampler/decks C/D good times this summer, and just as i kick start my career, this will give me an edge now in all the basic fundamental areas, mash up here i come lol.

Been abit ill, over last few days, but just got to finalise a the mapping for the ddj sx i have done and maybe make a list of what is what,
i have already mapped the 4 decks, fully and the sample decks for now until maybe Cross gets new features, i have assigned all the sample decks controls to the pads on deck C-D and they are really easy to use on the fly, as on the sample pads section on the ddjsx i have mapped the sample decks play/record and i have also doubled up the same controlls onto ddjsx decks 1+2, A/B decks on the sample section, so if you have decks A/B selected you can still play etc the samples, But i dont realy want to double up all the sample decks controls onto A/B yet if at all untill i know if in future version of Cross new pad features will we added like in that of serato and traktor it will just make more work or confuse later down the line,
i dont want to get two used to that layout for the time being, but overall the pads will get used a few times for different Cross features via the modifiers, although at present i have not had to use one single modifier in Cross as i have been able to use the ddjsx shift button/function, its just about getting the best map i can controlling most features in Cross, but still leaving the roll and slicer pad section free for the future, so their will be some future alterations to the pads, using modifiers in Cross for the pads mutiple funtions, but if i say so myself the ddjsx is proving to be the best controller i have used with Cross, everything is so ready available for on the fly, unlike the tracktor remix decks and some other DJ software just being so akward on the fly with recording into slots etc
hopefully i will feel much better tomorrow and i will see if i can finnish this mapping off for you.
PS bare in mind you will have to check out your ddjsx manual to change your ddjsx over into standard MIDI mode as its setup for serato straight out of the box, so to use all the pads different funtion buttons, instead of just one layer you need to change to standard MIDI mode.
