Sound clipping with scratches

Hey there,
I got a question. When I do some scratches or a back spin on my CDJ 850's, the signal gets very loud and is clipping. Does someone have the same problem?
I use Mixvibes Cross 2.3.1 on a Windows 7 notebook, the 850's in USB HID control mode and the sound is produced in the internal soundcard of my DJM 900 NXS via usb. Master limiter is turned on in MV.
Is there no solution like an individual limiter for each channel that limits the sound when it gets louder due to scratches? I feel like the CDJ itself does something like that in USB / CD Mode...

Lowering the channel gain on the mixer ?

it is natural that it gets louder when scratching.

when it's not clipping in the software, it's your mixer settings.

In the software the sound seems to bei clipping to, but at least there is no distortion. The problem is, if i do a backspin the sound is far too loud.
I tried to turn the master volume in mixvibes to its highest level so that the internal limiter takes a bit of the sound away while backspinning and this seems to lower the amplitude for scratching. But it is still too loud

you're not coming from vinyl, are you?
the increase in volume is absolutely natural, and wanted to achieve a high level of vinyl emulation.

you can only try to to also raise the track-gain within Cross, but that´ll just give you the same dead sound that traktor has.

I'm afraid I do not come from vinyl.. but I know what you mean.
The track gain can only be edited if I am in internal mode, is that right? So i can't do it.
When i do scratches with the CDJ in USB or CD mode, the sound does not get louder :/

You still should be able to adjust the trackgain for each song.

We'll talk in detail tomorrow, I gotta go to bed now (11pm here)

I have to agree with the OP. When I'm scratching the sound is Waaaay to loud. It's natural for there to be a slight increase in level when moving the waveform faster - this I understand & fully agree with. However the increase in Cross it's rather drastic. In order for me to scratch without overpowering the track I'm playing I end up having to drop my line fader 3/4 down. Please look into this, it really is an issue.
Actually when I come to think of it, I've only really noticed this since I installed the 2.4 R.C. - This might just be in my head but I honestly don't recall this when I first installed CrossDj.

So we should lower the output when scratching ?
This would not sound natural at all, but I think I'm slowly understanding from where this is coming from : Pioneer CDJ.

I think it should be looked into more closely. I'm not using a CDJ, I'm using a NS6 and compared to the output level when scratching with Serato & Traktor there is a major difference. An increase of 10db when performing scratches isn't natural at all. That's what I estimate when I'm dropping the my fader 3/4 down. Having the output the same or "slightly" higher than with normal playback would probably be ideal.
