Looking into getting the DVS Ultimate set, timecodes etc. I just want to make sure I've got the right equipment to do the job and don't just drop £100 and find I can't use it!

I'm using a relatively cheap 3 channel mixer alongside two stanton T62s, currently put through my main amp and then through speakers.

Any problems or other items I'd have to purchase in order to get the DVS to function? Running W7 if that's any help.

what sc are you using /planing to use for t c control

Sorry should have said. I'm currently using Cross LE, by SC do you mean sound card? I was going to use the interface that comes with the DVS set, I do however have a 5.1 external as well if I need it.

why are you considering DVS,,,, price difference between the two give info as to why and what you are trying to accomplish ,,,recommending staying with Cross and upgrading or getting Cross Pack or

I recently got some vinyl turntables & I want to play digital using them, before this I was just using Cross & my U-Mix Control 2, sorry if I caused any confusion.

I was under the impression you needed the entirety of the DVS Ultimate set to use it properly (because of the U-Mix 44).

its a pretty cheap thing, getting a new PC in april and will be upgrading to internal soundcard then but atm my computer doesn't have enough space on the mobo.

you need some info ,, the sc in the link doesnt look like it can handel the inputs nessary to run time code ,,, if you like Cross and are confortable with its set up then i suggest the Cross Pack ,, full version of Cross and a compatiable sc ,, so no need for a special sc in your computer, plus t c vinal,,,, didnt see the price of it in the product page,,, plus you files and setting dont have to be changed to run DVS ,,,,plus there are no more updates planned for DVS,,,plus use of the MIDI side of the controller you already have ,,,Cross Pack seems to be a better choice just my opion as to the info recieved ,,what will be the computer spec gotten in april ,also a thing to consider

Yeah I didn't think I'd be able to use my external, no phonos. I've found the Cross DVS Ultimate set for £95 including delivery which seems like a fair price, unless there is a different set you'd recommend. I'm happy using Cross, always preferred to traktor etc.

I can't quite afford the Cross Pack right now, almost double the price of the DVS set. If I opt for the DVS Ultimate, what disadvantages to do I face?

A question about the pack though, do I just run the master phonos from my mixer through the u-mix44? Was curious about that.
Edit: I just realised you probably run the turntables through the two inputs and then my mixer through the back, right?

As for my new PC I'm not sure of the exact specs yet, its gonna depend on what I can get in the easter sales. Probably going to run an i5 & stick with W7, hopefully will be able to get a 680 in the sales but will buy 670 if not! Looking forward to getting my hands on an ssd finally.

Cheers for the advice but I think I might have found something!
Did not realise I'd have to upgrade my Cross in order to use the DVS and had no idea the Ultimate set didn't come with it (blonde moment). I have found the Cross Pack brand new on ebay for £150, seems like it might be little more expensive but I do get the upgraded soundcard with it - seems like my best option right now?
