some people say it doesnt, id like to know before i purchase a vms4.1

It should work with CrossDJ but it has no native support so you will have to map the controller yourself.

The VMS4 and VMS2 require special firmware I don't know whether that will be the case for the VMS 4.1.

Maybe Support knows more.....

On the VMS4 & VMS 2 AA have made correction that we've asked for and the result was a special firmware for MixVibes (funny that asking to be on par with a standard make you special).

For the VMS 4.1 they made the same mistakes into the MIDI but didn't do any 'special' firmware for MixVibes this time...

So the 4.1 won't work properly into Cross.

Since then, we have changed some things in Cross, so it might work by tweaking the MIDI mappings file, but we can't assure it, as we didn't get any VMS4.1 here.

Could someone please verify whether this VMS4.1 works with this newer version?

Has anyone successfully mapped an American Audio VMS 4.1 for Cross? I am willing to help if a go between is needed for American Audio and Mixvibes to get this working 100%

Sorry, but there is no offcial mapping planned for this version 4.1
However, it's very easy to do the mapping yourself.
With a little thinking and work.

I have been in contact with American Audio, and they seem willing to provide any nessesary fixes to address the issue. It would be great if the folks at Mixvibes would colaborate with them to get the apparent "issues" taken care of, and get us an official VMS 4.1 Mapping.

OK Everyone!

I have to say, American Audio has been great at helping get this resolved. Apparently there IS a firmware update that will allow the VMS 4.1 to play nice with Mixvibes Cross - I will include the links below to the files, but cannot guarantee how long they will be active.

What this means for mapping, I have no idea. I will update as soon as I have tried it.

Maybe with some luck, this will nudge the Mixvibes team to create an "official" MIDI mapping for the American Audio VMS 4.1.

MAKE SURE THAT THE POWER ADAPTER IS CONNECTED TO THE VMS4.1 AND THE POWER IS ON WHEN PERFORMING THIS UPDATE.

Hope this helps anyone wanting to use this controller with Cross... I will post later with an update on my results!

It all depends whether AA will send a unit for the team to work on or whether the team can get there hands on one.

As for mapping, (if this firmware update works) there is no reason why you or any other user can try to map the controller.

It is a slow process but quite easy Also there are a couple of guys on the forum who may help you out with mapping the LED's if needed.
