A Bargain? Not this time!

Believe it or not, I was offered the deal of a lifetime tonight!

Pioneer gear, nice stuff, going cheap!

How much for a DJM500 mixer, and a pair of CDJ500s decks?

Before you think this is a joke, it came from a genuine source - the manager of the pub where I work every weekend, had a guy selling stuff in the pub and he contacted me. He saw the gear, recognized it as genuine and gave me a call...

Sadly, as the phone call was going on, another person tried to jump in and get the gear, but the seller then decided to do a runner!

We're talking serious gear here, worth lots of cash, but I was offered it for £150!!

As tempted as I was - this guy was obviously a druggie, who stole/burgled the gear from somewhere and didn't realize what he had on his hands...

I was bloody tempted though!

The pub gaffer said to offer him £50 if he comes back!

  all my expericences in life have lead me to believe you pay for what you get ,,the worst loss is when you try to get something for nothing ,,you usaly get exactly that nothing ,,life teaches you to take care and caution,, when things seem to be going too well you start looking around for the bad to come ,,so if its too good to be true ,,then it usaly is a lie

Exactly. If the gear was genuine, then it was probably stolen from some poor guy who can't do his job anymore. :(

It might be the case.

But the DJM-500 is a damn reliable nice mixer. We had a DJM-600, and there was not too many differences.

CDJ-500s = Vintage stuff. Better use timecode with them, because CD changing you know is a bit more difficult.

Well I'm not sure about these, It's your choice. If this was offered to me, I would say: OK!

I've always loved the 500's - such a nice 'feel' to them, like using vinyl!

I would dearly love a pair of my own, but legally!

Sadly, the guy hasn't been back... :(
