Anyone running an SSD drive? Any issues?

I have a Lenovo y470 laptop I bought last year. Had Intel i7, 8gb of ram, windows 7 etc. It came with a 750gb platter drive, but I upgraded it to an Intel 330 120gb SSD this fall. While the PC is lightening fast, I have found it is more prone to crashing and random issues where the PC stops responding for a few seconds. I looked online and seems others are having the same sort of issues as well.

I had a gig lasy night and CrossDJ crashed twice on it, so its making me feel uneasy about its reliability for upcoming gigs.

Anyone have similar issues with their SSD?

Not at all!

Have you tweaked your PC for use with an SSD?

Any specific tweaks? links?

I followed some generic ones posted on a Kingston website about what to enable/disable on Windows 7, but thats about it.

Ok, see if there's anything you didn't do yet:
-disable windows search
-disable last access
-disable pagefiling

Check if the data alignment is correct
Check for firmware updates of the SSD

That's all I can think of right now.

Also you might want to run "ssd tweaker" and the system optimization of "wise registry cleaner"

Now thats all ;)

these are the sort of issues I having:

https://www.google.ca/search?source=ig& ... Vg6evPMRz0

-comp will stop for a few second (up to 30 seconds sometimes) with animated cursor showing its doing some sort of background activity

-sometimes BSOD

-sometimes a program stops functioning and I only have the option to kill it and start over

not sure if its only related to the intel driver or what.

From your own search - did you do this?

Looks like it's a power management issue for SATA devices.

Havn't done the reg patch yet as I was reading from some users its a temp patch and the issue comes back on some systems. I may try it anyways but I was hoping for a sure thing fix that is the real root cause.
