first time set up

Hi,
Just bought U-Mix 44, connected up to my dk mixer as directed, loaded up the Cross DJ LE program, doesnt seem to be an EASY REC program, cant get any sound! All i want to do is rip vinyl onto my laptop. Have got Audacity for the ripping. Any ideas what im doing wrong?
