Hi MixVibes Community,

last week i had an accident at work. I fell from a ladder and now i have a "bands distortion" (i dont know if this is the correct english word) which means i can not go to work for about 4 weeks.
The other result is that i have more time for
Cross and my D.I.Y. controller
Here is what i have done in the last days:
I added 16 Led bars for the sampler pads.

They should visualize the playback level or the time progression of the corresponding pad.
Orginally they have been 10-Segment Led Bars but it turned out that 8 Segment Bars would be much less solder and programming effort. So i simply cutted 2 Segments to get 8 Segments.

The next things i added are 4 more 10 Segment Bars under the not yet present jog dials. They should visualize the players track progression.
All LED Bars are controlled by 4 small circuit boards.

Unfortunately something went wrong with my last component order. The 3 color (5xgreen 3xyello 2xred) Led Bars (which i wanted to use in addition with green 10 Segment Led Bars for VU-Meters) were missing...

Now i wondering which buttons i should equip with leds and
with how many colors. Any suggestions?
This buttons will get a led in any case:
-EQ kills
-Play
-Cue
-Reverse
-Loop
-FX on/off
-Slip/Vinyl
-Cues

During the next days i want to add 32 RGB Leds for all
Locator and Sampler pads.
On the Sampler pads one color should visualize the
play mode (loop, one shot...)
But i don't know yet a use case for the other two colors
Again: suggestions are welcome!
On the Locator pads i try to make the leds light up in the corresponding Locator color.

You see the controller is far away from completion but about two third of soldering is done and there is a very small light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi again!

Here is a small update:
Today I had spent again a lot of time soldering.
But instead to add the Locator/Sample Pad LEDs
i added LEDs for the EQ-Kill buttons, Cue buttons and
8 LEDs which visualize the Loop length in one color and the Seek length in another color.
This seems not to be much work, but if you look at the pictures you will see that i had to cut, strip and solder many wires.
All LEDs are tested and everything is working

Hi again!

The next steps are done!
This time i added 32 RGB Led for the Sample/Locator pads and some
additional leds for Play, Cue, Loop, Reverse, FX...

A time consuming procedure because i sanded most of them with sandpaper to get the leds shine more diffus.Then i cutted all the spikes from the led leads, which normally act as spacers.
Because i had to solder them inclined it was also necessary
to hown down one side of the leds.

So that they still fit next to the buttons.

Now allmost all leds are done!
Only 4 30-segment track VU-meters, 2 numeric led displays
for track bpm and two for pitch fader values are missing.
The last days I also thought about adding something to visualize
the players "sync cycles"... Any ideas?
Maybe i will use some small graphik LCDs like this!?

They could be usefull for other things too
In the near future i also i have to think about how to make
the controller's housing and frontpannel.
Due the size and the weigth i can not make the frontpannel
out of the same plastic similar material (dont know the name)
like my other diy devices.
But ordering a professional one include labeling will
cost about 200€. This is too expensive...
Another main topic is to construct the Jog dials.
Like said in some posts earlier, i use some optical ir-sensors but
i need a stable jog wheel with a "good smooth turning feeling" and
a good, low tolerance link to the sensor mechanic...
