Shall I order U-Mix Control Pro 2?

Ok the time has come, CD decks sold, shall i go for the control pro 2 against the whole selection of other controllers???

I have never used a controller, I've had my vinyl and mixer for about 10 years, Thanks to mixvibes I'm getting a second wind


Questions;

Will i be able to record directly using the pro 2 or do i still have to re direct all through PC with Audacity blah blah blah?

What does 'filters are not mapped' mean?

Assuming all effects are controlled on pro 2 ?

Aim is to use pro 2 with timecoded vinyls, or bypass and use REAL vinyls now & then. Also use stand alone with just PC for ad hoc mucking around

Yes, you can directly record any input of the Control Pro 2. In the nex Cross 2.1 upate, the Aux input can be selected to be recorded, you there is no easyer way to record external sources

That means, that the Bipolar filters are not mapped on the controller.
I mapped Bi-filters on my U-Mix Control Pro to the pitch faders, since I only use the sinc button

Yes, you even have a selector knob, and you can also have the ability to selec the source of the effects on the controller (Shift+ the effect selector encoder)

It is possible. The controller has two stereo ins. Each can be selected Line of Phono, and it's quite an easy way way for timecoding. You can also pass those through in Cross

I was real dissapointed discovering Cross didn't do that when i got the Cross Pack.

Just wiaitng for the payment on ebay - don't you just love a slow payer!

Yeah you will be able to record 'mixed' mixes using the internal Cross mixer, (tongue twister there. ) that is manipulated by the U-Mix Control Pro control; whether it be the MIDI decks or TC vinyl input through the U-Mix controller... You should also be able to use REAL vinyl and record too

You actually can record every input, even normal records. You can also have a bypass option on the soundcard, which means, that it will play through the records signal without actually sending it to the software.

Recording an imput is easy: Just select any input of the soundcard as input 1 for example, and set the source of Deck A to "Line" right above the mixer Where it says "A" and under it "Player", just click the "Player" text and it will change to line, which means that you play through the internal mixer of Cross everything that goes through input 1 in this case.
If you want to record that, just go to Preferences/ Record, select deck A as record source, then close preferences, and play the vinyl a little bit and use Cross's mixer to EG and set the Gain, and when you are ready, press the record button (upper right corner), and start the vinyl and there you go.

In default if you are on PC, it will save the recording to your Documents/Music/Cross folder.
