Controller Recommendations

I posted this thread the other day and you can see there that I was told to wait for the new U-Mix Control Pro 2...
Problem is, I'm impatient. And it's my birthday in less than a month. The only thing that I want is a controller and my girlfriend will buy me one if I send her a link to it
Given a budget of up to £250 (I'd possibly go up to £300 if it was a great option - I know this is relatively low, but that's just how it is I'm afraid) and also accepting that I can't wait for the new Mixvibes offering, does anyone have any reccommendations for controllers to use with Cross?
My requirements are very simple. I'm not good enough to play around with samples and stuff like that just yet so not too worried about that. I want to be able to play with effects without touching my laptop and I want to experiment with not using vinyl - a have a small suspicion that my old decks and their variation in speed are causing me problems. The controller should let me use the new filter effect in Cross 2.0. Looking at the U-Mix Control Pro, I'm not sure how I'd programme that in.
My second requirement is compatibility and stability with my laptop and Cross (spec in my signature). This is why I wanted to buy Mixvibes hardware for Mixvibes software. Plus I like you guys
My third requirement is to be able to use timecode vinyl with it still. Lack of space means that this controller is going to replace my existing mixer. I think this might be the most difficult requirement...
Any suggestions?
