Sometimes things just happen!
Posted: 08 Sep 2012, 03:56Normally I would do a random, crazy post like this, but I've had the most awesome night and wanted to tell you guys about it!
Tonight I took part in a big corporate event - no money spared and everything for free!
A well-known radio DJ was brought in, and a popular club DJ in my area, and my job was to control the sound system and provide a karaoke session later in the night...
This is how it was allocated:
Equipment hire £200
Me: £150
DJ £150
Celebrity DJ £500
This all equals £1000
Now here's where it gets fun!
The club DJ turned out to be a warm-up guy who'd never used a microphone in his life!
The 'celebrity' DJ spent more time talking to the girls in the audience, so I had to do most of his work.
Both of them left at 11.30, even though the event was supposed to finish at 1am!
So I took complete control at 11.30, did a few mixes, a bit of chat, and generally kept the night going until the end.
At 1am, the bosses of the company (solicitors) came to shake my hand and gave me an envelope - it contained an extra £100!
The best thing of all though, is that they've decided to change things for their next party at Christmas - they are just going to have one DJ... and that is me! Of course they are cutting costs, but I'm going to get £500 for one gig!
