What I got in stock is one iPad as DJ MIDI Controller. (you can use up to five iPad at the same time!)
I control all MIDI functions included in Cross. (with an application: "Lemur")
This amazing controler has been designed by french user and friend P_Jean. As far as Mixvibes approve the final mapping and pages I wil publish it.
Within a couple of days...

And of course you can use U-Mix Remote for iPad to control your PC/Mac Cross

nice would you say the iPad would be the end all of MIDI .
if so i may need to save up

Air Display works well to use an iPad as a second display. It's actually what I use for karaoke to give my singers a display. I mount an iPad on a microphone stand and it works wonderfully.

You can also use it as a touch screen device for control if the interface shows on it. I used it with an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R so I could actually use the low latency monitoring to mix microphones.

Keep in mind this is for a remote display where you extend your display to the iPad. I've also been dabbling with Airplay recently when tied to an Apple TV.

For use as a controller though, you may be better off with the Cross remote app, Lemur or something similar.
