Hi, I tried the search function, but couldnt find anything relevant to my problem.

I havent bought MixVibes Cross yet although I am very interested.

I want to know what results I will get using my current laptop.

Specs in Sig.

I want to be able to mix and do some fairly basic scratches using timecoded vinyl. No Q-Bert level stuff but some simple cutting scratches etc.

Im not concerned with FX at all and im not interested in looping either. Will MixVibes suit my needs before I splash out?

Many thanks!

Hi,

I did use an Acer netbook with similar specs which was completely optimized for Audio-performance and I could get down to a pc-latency of around 3 ms which was good for scratching.
Not perfect but for the PC´s size really good.

And while the 3ms felt ok for scratching, at this setting i couldnt load another song without audio-glitches.
So scratching will probably be ok, but mixing wont be.

Also keep in mind that you´re way under the min-specs, so it might be possible that future updates or even current versions wont even run on that machine.

chances it´ll work are 50/50.

It says min specs are 1ghz processor. Hmmm, will just stick to my vinyl for now. Cant afford a new laptop.

:(

You looked up the specs for DVS, which is different to Cross and older but also very fine.

Cross Min specs: 1,8ghz Core2Duo

DVS is probably gonna run fine, Cross definitely wont smoothly.

I have a shitty laptop, and I could run on 5 ms latency, without problems.

Just keep your stuff analised, and you should not get any problems.
BTW that 5 ms latency still worked well.

But You shurely didn't have a ulv CPU in your laptop.

Don't mess up apples with bananas :)

My intire setup is worse...

My CPU is an Intel Pentium T2130 (2 cores), 1.8 GHZ, 1 MB chache, 533 MHZ FSB, I got 2GB of 667 MHZ DDR2 RAM, and my HDD is handled as IDE not SATA...
it is an late 2007, early 2008 laptop...

This Intel® Pentium Dual Core U5600 CPU is a year 2011 launched one, and overall better than mine :)

Oh Mr. Bujtor, your highness, dont make me come over like lil bitch

Though the sspecs look better, there´s nearly no difference in the cpus performance, just look up the benchmark checks.
