As a music collector since the age of 5, I've always been interested in music, and it's a safe bet that you guys are too!

What I'm interested to know is how big is your collection, and what is it made up of?

I have:

mp3: 36,000 (many duplicates on numerous albums - only 15,000 are in my DJ collection)

Cd: 800+

Vinyl: Exactly Zero (I let them all go 2 years ago - still regretting that decision!)

Karaoke: 27,000 mp3+g tracks (Again, a lot of duplicates)

I can provide a list if anyone's interested (THAT IS A JOKE - DON'T ASK!!!! )

I'd love to come and have a sort through your vinyls Daniel! :D

Do that backup my friend - I spent 2 years building a collection, only to lose it when my hard drive died! Thankfully, this was before I went professional again, but it's taken me about four years to build my current collection - which I back up every week. ;)

Loving music is the quality I most like in a person - so consider yourself a friend!

(I'll book a plane ticket to come and see that vinyl collection! )

I wish you luck in your search. I've been lucky and tracked down everything I ever liked. I take pleasure in finding great new tracks, and also rare old stuff. I'm an old soul/motown/60's guy at heart, and I still find songs from that era that blow me away - I can thank Youtube for fuelling my interest in that field.

What is really great is the music that was popular in the US, but never quite got to the UK. I've found so much stuff I like from the 50's and 60's that never got into the charts here in England. It just highlights the different tastes in music between our countries I guess.

I've been offered a show on a local internet radio station here, and I have to choose a format and a theme - I think I may have found it. Rare and interesting oldies from both sides of the Atlantic. Especially the Soul and Motown sounds... :)

Roughly 14000 tracks, but i have some duplicates, but not that much.

- Rock
- Punk
- Hungarian alternative
- Ska
- Underground
- Hip-hop
- Pop
- Etc.
- roughly 750 dubstep and bass style tracks
- roughly 800 Drum'n'Bass
- 600-700 house-minimal-electro tracks (my smallest collection :D )
- some trance from my early (earlyer  ) days
- Also some Eurotrance-jumstyle-hardcore styles

1 vinyl album - FatBoySlim - You've come a long way baby - 2 vinyl album published in 1998, and I have a copy of that.
(In the future I'll get a Beatles - Yellow Submarine album. It is in good shape ;) )

I have a pretty low budget and small HDD-s... so a bit complicated for me :(

My "All Music" Collection has 31,237 tracks. This covers music from the 60's to the present day and everything in between.

My "House & Dance" Collection has 9,401 tracks. This collection holds all my dance music, mainly House (all types) Commercial Dance, Club Classic's and D'n'B.

I have just over 1,000 12" vinyls which are all in Record boxes and stored at in my mums in her loft. I started collecting vinyl from about 94 and stopped about 99 when I went digital and started buying and converting stuff to mp3's.

I only have a small collection of CD's as I went from vinyl straight to mp3's.
