New to the forum and have a question

My girl just got me the Ion Discover DJ, and I am having troubles syncing the external mixer with my laptop. I have the USB connected and controls are lit, but can not make it work. Any input?

FYI.... i am not the most computer wise person, so please cut me some slack. thank you.
