Crossfader change problem

I'm asking for some technical help right now.

The crossfader in my mixer is a bit... well... bad (I used it hard a bit).
The problem is, that the shop which should have a spare part for it, said, the don't have a 100kohm CF, they have a 50kohm CF, but the one in my mixer is 100k.

Any ideas about should it work, or any experience in putting a different crossfade in and still worked well?

If there is no idea about it, at least I tried :)

This is waht I cloud make... I have my webcam only. That is a flat plastic CD case for size comparison.

It has a five-pin connector.
On the top you view see two screwholes, which are important.

I Hope they are okay...

PS: Yersterday I measured the resistance of the sides, and they are no more than 30k... Strange... cause it sais 100k on the bottom:D

Hey,

i was hoping i had some spare here, that i could give but sorry. :(
If I were you i´d try to clean it with 98% alc. and some fader-lube afterwards, if that does´t help you´ll have to get the new crossfader.

cheers
J

Hi,

yeah, try the 50k if it fits in.
Basically nothing bad happen to your mixer but you might have a different curve (better or worse).

cheers
