Up and Running with Cross

Postby jprime on 26 Jan 2011, 01:47

Just wanted to start by saying a huge thanks to MixVibes for the Cross DJ pack, I had alot of fun making the vid for that last contest :D

I've had the chance to get up and running with Cross; I have been using it with a controller (M-Audio Trigger Finger).

I have been VERY impressed with how it reacts and functions; very very smooth. Setting up the MIDI was very intuitive - so well done there :)

I have been using the faders on my trigger finger to control pitch up 7 down, but am finding it VERY sensitive...
So my question for people using the software with a controller; are you using nudge & pitch buttons - or faders? Any general consensus on what works better? Any Tips/Tricks I am missing?

Denon always claims that buttons are better for this and so always provide them.

Hey Jprime

Good to see you around! And very glad to hear such great feedback about Cross ...

MixVibes is unfairly not known enough in Canada, but we count on you to spread the word ;)

Would you make a little scratch video with your new software maybe ? :D that's be awesome mate ...

Talk soon

^^Awesome advice thanks - I'm going to have a go with the buttons next time.

As for a video - Hell yes - I plan on doing a full video using it with a controller, and I would be happy to do up a scratch video with it.

Will take a bit of time as I have a few projects on the go, but rest assured, I'll drum up something decent.

Thanks for the replies :)

I use all new Korg stuff, and to be honest I really love them and I used Lemur for a while and I found out that, as Phaded said, it is boring and limited as hell. I had a trigger finger once and I dont quite like it. But Korg works perfect with bith Cross and DVS perfectly. And also if you need a buttony trigger finger go nanopad coz its cheap and its awesome.
